Stones in Astrology

Ancient science of astrology is based on the idea that there is a correspondence between the positions of the planets and the signs of the zodiac, on one hand and the events occurring on the other. Further more, there is a relation between each planet and each sign with every person and every object on this Earth, so that everything earthly has its correspondence with something in the heavens.

Astrologers of today are of the opinion that an influence is coming down from the heavenly bodies in the form of some sort of radiation. It is sufficient to believe that there is some sort of correspondence, so what happens to a particular planet or sign will correspond with some event concerning persons or things ruled by that planet or sign. The wearing of the appropriate zodiacal gem was always believed to strengthen the influence of the zodiacal sign.

Though many gem stones are not used in medicine in a physical sense as they were in ancient and medieval times they have retained their power through centuries, to heal in the deeply mystical way known to the healers of ancient India. For example, the gem stone emerald was used for protection and healing in India and the Far East. In the presence of an emerald worn by the person the jewel would turn pale if there was and danger to the wearer. Just as rubies change their color with any form of ill health and topaz changes its color when there are signs of toxins in the wearer's body.
